Character Descriptions
In order of appearance:
GARRICK SOLACE - An Alderaan-born Jedi Knight who survived not only the vicious purge of the Old Republic's Jedi Order, but who is also recovering from a period of enslavement to the Nightsisters of Dathomir. Sensing the strong connection a crimelord's Twi'lek slave has to the Force, he opts to not only free the slave from her bondage to the crimelord Voldo Dracian, but to train his timid charge in the ways of the Force.
DRANE SLAAD - The owner of the Shore Leave Cantina is as seedy a presence as can be expected for one who has been loaned a crimelord's somewhat defiant Twi'lek slave. Knowledgeable in the locations of many Imperial outposts within the known Rims, he tends to resort to drinking in response to particularly stressful situations.
VOLDO DRACIAN/DARTH AVRYSS - The apprentice of Darth Vaus himself, Darth Avryss...designed against the sin of Greed...was born Voldo Dracian, one of the two last remaining members of a family of wealthy Imperial hardliners (indeed, it is his wealth that primarily funds the creation of the Sith's newest planet-killing weapon). In his crimelord aspect, he had amassed many high-profile contacts throughout the galactic underworld, including that of the late Jabba the Hutt. Among the Sith elements of the Vaus System, he also wears a third, more devious mask.
DALENA - Enslaved to a crime lord, this female Twi'lek's past is so clouded in mystery that even her true name is unknown. For all she knows, adventure and excitement is a myth and servitude is the most important thing in life...until a Jedi Knight emerges from hiding, hoping to exploit her long-suppressed capability to wield the Force
SACHE' MINX - A purple Twi'lek slave and a relative of Lunae Minx, the purple Twi'lek who frequented the Outlanders Bar on Coruscant. Sache's influence serves to feed the flame of defiance that her nameless Twi'lek friend (Dalena) secretly nurtures.
DARTH VALKYRA - Neither an apprentice nor a full-blown Sithlord, the wicked female Zabrak...representing Envy by design...is an Emperor's Hand, and part of the reason why the Emperor allowed these Sith advocates to persist despite the "rule of two". Valkyra tends to gravitate to those who flaunt unique manifestations of power, influence and intimidation...all the better for her to claim them for her own should the architects of these manifestations die in combat. She typically delights in humiliating Darth Avryss.
DARTH SALACIUS/LEILANAI KULAN - Embodying the sin of Lust, the Mirialan Padawan Leilanai Kulan was defeated and turned to the dark side in her one single encounter with the Sithlord, Darth Moloch, who she has apprenticed herself to. As Kulan, she couldn't help but show affections for Garrick Solace, but the Jedi chose the strictures of his creed rather than risk maintaining a forbidden romance. As Salacius, she cannot help but feel contempt for Solace.
DARTH SZAAL - The third of the three Sithlords who secretly manipulate the system's politics (Szaal being responsible for the affairs on Vaus I), he was born Venemus Tull...a Jedi aspirant who was expelled from the Order for showing too much aggression. Representing the deadly sin of Sloth by design, the somewhat foppish Szaal's penchant for tactics compelled Darth Vaus to grant him influence over the system's Imperial Navy, who regard Szaal in a manner similar to a High Admiral (making the ambitious Admiral Vachss his subordinate). The lower half of Szaal's body has been replaced with a levitational harness, as his legs were severed during a lightsaber duel with a Padawan. His less-than-perfect lightsaber skills compel Szaal to defer to the hidden blaster mounts in his harness, if not his propensity to use Force Lightning, to take out his opponents.
DARTH VENGE - Once a promising Padawan named Jared, now the apprentice of Darth Szaal, Darth Venge...who represents Wrath...is a perpetually aggressive presence who is more inclined to cut down his problems with his lightsaber than to employ more esoteric means of defeating his opponents. Through his Master's counsel, Jared has been convinced that the Jedi Knight, Garrick Solace, was largely responsible for the murder of his family.
DARTH MOLOCH - The single most menacing presence among the three Sithlords in the Vaus System (next to the primary Sithlord, Darth Vaus), Darth Moloch is modeled after the sin of Gluttony in that while he is called upon to influence ground troops belonging to the Empire (Stormtroopers and so forth) while secretly manipulating affairs on Vaus III, the enigmatic alien presence with the unusually deadly dual-bladed lightsaber tends to take control of all available assets as if he were in complete control of the entire system. It is he who corrupted and turned a Mirialan Padawan to the dark side of the Force.
VECTOR GAMBIT - After voluntarily abandoning the Jedi Academy at Padawan rank over a personal regret, Gambit has since carved a living for himself as a smuggler. A childhood friend of the Jedi Knight Garrick Solace, Gambit has embraced the practice of using the Force to assist his piloting skills if his situation is dire or he needs that "extra advantage" during an aerial battle. His agile smuggler vessel, the "Patriot", is a family heirloom.
DELTA - A Human Replicating Droid and the co-pilot of the Patriot. Combining HRD technology with hidden Super Battledroid offenses and Droideka defenses, Delta's fragile Personality Interface Circuit-based human replicating systems are state-of-the-art, making her nearly indistinguishable from an actual human.
ARIA CORONA - The last of a lineage strong in the Force, Aria is an Adjudicator...a creed that combines the skills and responsibilities of a trial lawyer with that of an impromptu strike team leader. They may commonly call on the aid of groups of Vaus System Constables to quell disorder while defending or prosecuting citizens accused of committing crimes. Personality-wise, Aria combines Padme Amidala's pacifism with Leia Organa's raw determination and she is the leader of the Vaus System's struggling resistance movement. She is in the hopes that she will one day reunite with her missing father, the Jedi Master Deign Corona.
ADMIRAL SARAS VACHSS - The Fleet Admiral of the Imperial Navy forces that hold vigil over the Vaus System airspace, Admiral Vachss...who wears a black Officer's outfit regardless of his rank...is a homicidally efficient Imperial Officer for the fact that he would much rather kill an incompetent subordinate than just punish the transgressor. Though the cold-blooded Admiral will not show it openly, he is still smarting over the fact that the Emperor redirected a Lion's share of his complement of Imperial Star Destroyers to participate in the Battle of Endor...a battle they obviously never survived.
KELL PALDINE - A mercenary hero in the Outer Rim territories during the Clone Wars, Paldine now serves as a combat commander in Aria's resistance movement. He shares Aria's zeal to liberate the system from the Empire's control.
TARAN VICKERS - The Regional Governor of the Vaus System, he was once referred to as the system's Chief Justice and presides over all of the more important trials dealing with system-wide transgressions. It is he who has entrusted the safety of his system to the Empire and to all appearances; the Imperials do not suspect that Taran might turn against them...
CAPTAIN KODIUS RADIKER - Subordinate to Admiral Vachss, he is the gray-outfitted Captain of the Star Destroyer Vendetta. Easily intimidated, he harbors a secret contempt for the Admiral.
VARELA DRACIAN - The other surviving member of the Dracian family, she has inherited the Dracian estate in the Kuat System. Cruelly imperious in nature, it is she who alerts Bane Razak to the fact that Garrick Solace has resurfaced.
BANE RAZAK - A bounty hunter who holds a bit of a grudge against the Jedi Knight Garrick Solace, the Dracian family effectively puts her back on the hunt for Solace while serving the interests of Darth Avryss and his Sith associates. Viciously scarred from her last encounter with Solace, Bane has retrofitted herself with all manner of weaponry and sensory systems. Half her face, in fact, is more machine than mortal.
BRANT HEARTH - A crafty element of TK-Zero, a Special Operations detachment of the Vaus Constabulary that uses Stormtrooper and/or Scout Trooper armor to infiltrate Imperial activities throughout the Vaus System. Has a wife and daughter, both of them unaware of their father's extracurricular activities. He is also the co-pilot of the TAC Starfighter piloted by Taran Vickers.
TOREY HEARTH - Brant's young daughter is generally satisfied with Imperial rule, but only because her mother seems content with their determination to protect the system and keep the peace. As much as she loves her father, she finds it difficult to accept that he would be involved in the acts of apparent terrorism that plague the system.
SELARA
HEARTH - Brant's Adjudicator wife is among the majority of the citizens of the
Vaus System who approve of the Imperial rule...at first. Desperate circumstances
involving her young daughter Torey compel her to switch sides.
SENN TRAVERS - Kell Paldine's right-hand man in the resistance movement and a demolitions expert by virtue of the bulky pack of explosives he periodically carries around.
LT. AEGIS STRAND - A member of the Vaus Constabulary who responds to the authority of Adjudicator Selara Hearth, he is also knowledgeable in the repair and programming of droid units...an advantage stemming from a family heritage steeped in the development of the droids and the planet-wide droid factories on Vaus III.
CAPTAIN
KRAYT EICHLING - An officer of the Vaus Constabulary so loyal to the Empire that
he would never expect his Imperial masters to betray him in any way.
MALAC
GARREN - Chief Administrator over the Residential sectors of Vaus II and one of
the three individuals who preside over trials dealing with system-wide
transgressions, he is also the primary pilot of a TAC Starfighter.
ADJUDICATOR PLATUS ZIMA - No bio available at this time.
DORELEI ECHELON - Another Councilor of the Engineers' Council on Vaus III. She is a bit skeptical of Seraph's theories regarding Darth Moloch, but nevertheless offers herself as someone to whom Seraph can vent his concerns.
GALVAN SERAPH - A Councilor of the Droid Engineers' Council on Vaus III, he shares Deign Corona's suspicions regarding the intimidating alien presence that is Darth Moloch. He realizes that his solution to the problem will be difficult to accept under the circumstances.
